Court Support Services 

For many families, attending court. Even family court can be a very stressful, fearful and intimidating time. The Fear of the unknown or of possible repercussions prevents many women from seeking legal protection.

We recognise this, and through our Court Support service, we provide support and accompaniment to those subjected to domestic violence and abuse who wish to pursue legal options under family law, for example, Safety or Barring orders.

We can also provide support for clients as they prepare for court and after, supporting them to remain safe while there is a court order in place.

We operate a court clinic in Athlone District court on Wednesdays and Family Law hearing days.

Through this service we can offer you support in the following areas:

• Advice on legal orders, court process, court application process.
• Assisting with submitting documents to Court office to apply for DV Orders.
• Court accompaniment – (application/ court hearing) in District, Circuit and High Court.
• Court preparation-assistance formulating, preparing and delivering case.
• Assistance in legal aid application and gathering necessary and applicable documents.
• Linkage/Advocacy with Gardaí, Solicitors, Barristers, Social Workers and Legal Personnel.
• Post court support/debrief and safety planning.
